What type of design services do you offer?

Designing Style offers a comprehensive range of interior design and decorating services tailored for residential homes. Our services include color selections, spatial planning, bathroom, kitchen and laundry design. We assist in selecting and specifying materials and treatments for walls, flooring, windows, upholstery, and furniture. Additionally, we provide expert guidance on paint colors for both interior and exterior spaces to help create a cohesive and inviting atmosphere in your home.

Which areas do you service?

We are based in the Hills District of North West Sydney and proudly service the Sydney metro areas. We also offer virtual consultations for clients located outside this region for all other areas of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.

Do you offer a free initial consultation?

Yes, we offer a complimentary initial 15-minute telephone consultation. This allows us to discuss your design needs and explore how we can assist you in your project. After the telephone consultation, if you would like to proceed, we will schedule a 90-minute in-person consultation for which a fee is charged.

What is your pricing structure for design services?

Our pricing structure consists of a range of packages designed to accommodate various budgets and project sizes. This flexibility allows us to tailor our services to meet your specific needs while ensuring you receive the best value for your investment.

Do you offer designer discounts?

Yes, we do offer designer discounts. When suppliers provide us with a designer discount, we make it a priority to pass those savings on to you whenever possible. This helps us ensure that you receive the best value for your purchases while enjoying our design services.

How long does the design process take?

The duration of the design process can vary depending on the complexity and scope of the project. Typically, we provide a timeline during the initial consultation, and we aim to keep you informed throughout the process. On average, projects can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months, depending on factors such as design approvals, sourcing materials, and execution of the work. Rest assured, we strive to deliver high-quality results in a timely manner.

What if I need revisions on the design?

For our color consultations, we include two color palette variations for either interior or exterior areas. If you change your mind or would like to explore additional schemes, these will be available for an additional nominal fee.

For any other detailed design work, during the design process, depending on the type of service, there will be an allocation of included revisions, as detailed on our engagement contract. Once you have approved the final design, any further revisions or changes will also incur an extra charge.

Please note that once orders are placed with suppliers, cancellation fees, restocking fees, or non-change-of-mind conditions may apply to their individual sales terms and conditions, which will be applicable and payable.

Additionally, where revisions and variations or rework are required due to any changes made to the building during construction or renovation by any contractor or through DIY efforts that occur after or during Designing Style’s design process, additional fees will be charged

Where do you obtain your materials and furnishings?

We primarily source our materials and furnishings from reputable Australian suppliers, with a strong emphasis on sustainable products that come with warranties and guarantees. While we prioritise Australian-made products, we understand that they may not always be available, so we carefully select the best options to ensure quality and sustainability for your project.

How do you collaborate with other contractors and suppliers?

We collaborate closely with your contractors by providing them with all the necessary information and resources to assist with construction and installation. This includes detailed specifications, timelines, and supplier information to ensure a seamless and efficient process throughout the project. Our goal is to facilitate clear communication and teamwork to achieve the best results for your design.

Do you organise all the trades and builders?

We no longer provide project management services for building work. While we understand the complexities and timelines involved in the building process, we recommend that you source your own contractors directly, ensuring they have individual contracts and appropriate insurances. This approach allows you to proceed at your own pace. However, we do take care of the design, layout, and organisation of furniture, soft furnishings, and decorative items for you, ensuring that your space is beautifully designed and styled.

Do you project manage the project and the budget?

No, we do not offer project management services for the project or budget. Our focus is on providing design services and support, allowing you to manage the project and budget according to your preferences. However, we do take your budget into consideration when recommending and specifying products to ensure that our design solutions align with your financial expectations while maintaining quality and style.
